Young Jeezy to host Fox Soul show ‘Worth a Conversation’

The Atlanta based rapper will join the Fox Soul roster of celebrity hosts

Young Jeezy is adding another stream of income to his already packed resume.

The “Trap or Die” rapper was announced yesterday as the host of the new Fox Soul talk show Worth a Conversation with Jay ‘Jeezy’ Jenkins. The show is billed as one that will discuss the issues around policing, politics, community, entertainment, sports, and other issues of interest to Fox Soul’s audience.

Jeezy will also be the show’s executive producer. The announcement was made on Monday (Sept. 28), Jeezy’s 43rd birthday.

In a press release, Jeezy said he’s been looking forward to bringing his own perspective to the crowded field of artists turned media personalities.

“It has been my passion and my drive to inspire, motivate, and educate my culture. Every song I’ve ever written, every word I’ve uttered came from a real place and this is no different. ‘Worth a Conversation’ is self-explanatory,” Jeezy said in the statement. “I will talk about issues that directly affect my culture and it’s people. From the front porch conversations to real-life situations, ‘Worth a Conversation’ is bridging the gap. I’m excited to be a part of the FOX Soul family and can’t wait to introduce you to Jay ‘Jeezy’ Jenkins.”

Jeezy can get some pointers from his fiancée, The Real co-host Jeannie Mai. The two announced their engagement in April 2020, and Jeezy has been cheering Mai along as she competes on this season of Dancing With the Stars.

The two met on the set of The Real in 2018 and started dating that fall, according to O Magazine. They’ve been gushing over each other on social media since they went ‘Instagram official’ in Jan. 2019. Mai shared the hurt of her very public divorce from ex-husband Freddy Harteis in 2017 with viewers of The Real, and once she and Jeezy started dating. She also shared her joy at finding what she says is her ‘equal.’

“The things I’ve been criticized for my whole life and in my past relationships, ‘Jeannie you’re too deep, you think about things too much,’ ‘Why’s everything got to have a purpose?’ I’m not one for small talk or small conversations, I want to know, ‘Why do you think the way you do? What brought you to look at things the way you do? Who are you? Who’s important to you? And I found my equal,” she said on The View in August last year.
