Cardi B slams Candace Owens: ‘I’m not getting pimped out by White men’

The music superstar did not mince words when addressing the conservative firebrand

Cardi B had time on her hands Sunday night when she posted a stinging video message to conservative personality Candace Owens.

The Grammy award-winning performer, who refused to show her face on camera because she was under the weather, held nothing back in her address to Owens, who Cardi accused of harassing her online for her support of Democratic Party.

“I don’t know why the devil been f**king trying me today but I’m going to give demons a response,” the Bronx rapper said in the opening of the video.

Cardi B, real name Belcalis Almánzar, said that Trump supporters had been harassing her online due to her previous endorsement of Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary and later of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Trump supporters like Candace Owens and Fox News, she said, had been targeting her for her politics and recently doing a sit-down interview with Biden.

“Why wouldn’t Joe Biden sit down with me? I have millions of followers and I pay millions in taxes … I’m heard all around the word,” she said. “The same way I get people to pop their p***y and have a good time and make them feel like a bad bitch — I can also encourage millions of followers to go vote.”

While she had remained silent about the internet hate, Cardi said things came to a head when her sister, Hennessy, and her sister’s girlfriend were harassed by Trump supporters in the Hamptons during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

@candiceowens you want your clout here ! Leave me alone

A post shared by Cardi B (@iamcardib) on

“You want to call me a dumb bitch, you want to call me illiterate … girl, you’re getting pimped out by White men,” said Cardi B. “You have been this man’s cheerleader. You’re a beautiful Black woman, you talk great, amazing … and this man didn’t have the decency to let you talk at the Republican convention.”

Cardi also pointed out that Trump instead had the Kentucky attorney general, Daniel Cameron, speak at the RNC, despite not yet making any announcement about the police shooting of Breonna Taylor who was shot dead in her own home on March 13.

She then turned her attention back to Owens. “I don’t know what Black man broke your heart … that you hate your kind so much,” said Cardi, who vowed to continue telling her millions of followers to vote in the upcoming election on Nov. 3, despite Republicans and conservative voices like Owens who’d rather she stay silent.

Cardi B’s video response came after Owens tweeted a video clip on Sunday of her interview with conservative firebrand Ben Shapiro, in which she accused the hip-hop star’s music of being destructive to the Black community.

“Since most black people didn’t have the spine to admit that @benshapiro was 100% correct about @iamcardib and how her music and platform contributes to the disintegration of black culture and values…here you go,” Owens tweeted.

Cardi replied: “Yes you are right I have the number 1 song & I have a huge platform and I can make millions go vote to get the MAN THAT USED YOU .I don’t want to argue with you Candace I really don’t have the time .I honestly just feel sorry for you.”

She also tweeted a short clip of her sister’s encounter with two White men — one of whom wore a “Make America Great Again” hat — and a woman at a beach.

Her video response to Owens ended in true Cardi B fashion: “You wanted an answer, here you go … you have it. Now leave me alone, bitch. Now I’m going to go drink some chicken noodle soup.”

Trump wants to pull funding from schools that use 1619 curriculum

Trump also announced his plan to ban federal agencies from practicing racial sensitivity training.

President Donald Trump is condemning the New York Times1619 Project and the schools that use it to teach their students. The 1619 Project is a school curriculum that reframes events in American history.

“The 1619 Project is an ongoing initiative from The New York Times Magazine that began in August 2019, the 400th anniversary of the beginning of American slavery. It aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative,” according to the New York Times website.

The President tweeted that the U.S. Department of Education would investigate whether or not California schools are using the materials provided by the Project.

“Department of Education is looking at this. If so, they will not be funded!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

This comes after Trump announced his plan to ban federal agencies from practicing racial sensitivity training. The training acknowledges white privilege and opens up about critical race theory, CNN reported.

In a two-page memo, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, Russell Vought, called the effort to train federal agencies to be racially sensitive was “un-American propaganda.”

New York Times Magazine published the 1619 Project last year. After the launch, materials were created to help teachers develop educational resources and a curriculum.

Other Republicans like Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas have introduced legislation that would ban schools from teaching the 1619 Project under the name ‘Saving American History Act of 2020’, CNN reported.

The affected schools would also be ineligible for government grants.

“We want our sons and daughters to know the truth,” Trump said.

Ex-Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke says Rittenhouse should have had a plan

Protesters were demonstrating in the wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake.

Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, a frequent correspondent on Fox News programs, said on a radio show that armed vigilantes like Kyle Rittenhouse should have a plan to rationalize what they have done.

Clarke implied that shooters who aim at peaceful protesters must have an excuse, according to Mic.

“I don’t advocate for some of the stuff that’s starting to happen, but I am certainly done … I am through with condemning it. I’m done with that,” Clarke said as a guest on a Milwaukee-area radio show last week.

“I’m just telling people, ‘Hey, you’re on your own,” Clark continued, according to Media Matters. “Think about it, have a plan. Act reasonably. You have to act reasonably. Then you’re going to have to articulate what you did afterwards.”

Conservatives like Clarke, a President Donald Trump supporter and a critic of Black Lives Matter despite being Black himself, are rationalizing Rittenhouse’s killings at a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Clarke’s comments are “the latest development in a growing narrative within conservative circles that Rittenhouse’s killing of two protesters during social justice demonstrations in Kenosha was not only justified, but somehow commendable,” according to Mic.

Protesters were demonstrating in the wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake, a father who was shot in the back seven times by police while his children were present.

“The majority of these gun purchases are first-time gun owners, and when we leave this up to the individual, it’s not going to end real pretty,” Clarke said on the radio show.

“But I don’t blame them. Have a plan, think it through, be able to articulate it, and be reasonable. It’s all the law requires.”

Bond denied for Georgia trooper charged in fatal shooting of Black motorist

A judge says it’s ‘inappropriate’ to grant bond to Jacob Gordon Thompson, given the facts of the case

SYLVANIA, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia judge has denied bond for a former Georgia State Patrol trooper accused of murder in the August shooting death of a 60-year-old Black man who refused to stop for a broken tail light.

Screven County Judge F. Gates Peed on Friday ruled that it “would be inappropriate” to grant bond at the moment for Jacob Gordon Thompson, given the facts of the case.

Thompson, who is white, briefly chased Julian Lewis on Aug. 7 before forcing Lewis’ car into a ditch and fatally shooting Lewis in the head.

Thompson wrote in his incident report that he feared for his life and fired one shot when Lewis revved his engine and turned his steering wheel as if he wanted to ram the trooper.

Thompson was arrested a week later on a charge of felony murder and aggravated assault by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He remains in custody at the Screven County Jail, near the state’s South Carolina border.

Attorney Francys Johnson, who is representing the Lewis family, said that Peed’s denial of bond for Thompson is a positive sign for the current movement for racial equality in American policing.

“The unprecedented pace of the investigation is a direct result of years of activism on these issues along with a sea-change in law enforcement leadership at the top of the GBI,” Johnson said in a statement Friday. “This case is not proceeding as business as usual.”

The incident report Thompson filed says he spotted a Nissan Sentra driving with a broken tail light at about 9 p.m. and turned on his lights to initiate a traffic stop in rural Screven County. He said the driver flashed both his turn signals and motioned with a hand outside his window but made no effort to stop.

Thomspon wrote that he followed the car at speeds up to 65 mph until the vehicle rolled through a stop sign. The trooper then performed a maneuver that forced the car into a ditch. Thompson said he pulled alongside the vehicle and drew his gun as he got out of his cruiser.

“At some point, I heard the engine on the violator’s vehicle revving at a high rate of speed,” Thompson wrote in his report. “I activated the light on my weapon and observed the violator with both hands on the steering wheel. I saw him wrenching the steering wheel in an aggressive back and forth manner towards me and my patrol vehicle.”

He continued: “It appeared to me that the violator was trying to use his vehicle to injure me. Being in fear for my life and safety, I discharged my weapon once.”

The trooper’s bullet hit Lewis in the forehead. Thompson wrote that he tried to render first aid until paramedics arrived.

Teen charged in two Atlanta murders that occurred weeks apart

The unnamed 15-year-old suspect is accused of shooting a total of three people in as many weeks

A teen suspected of a deadly shooting in Atlanta earlier this summer has now been charged for a separate killing.

The 15-year-old suspect, who last month was charged with murder for the July shooting, has been linked to the murder of a homeless man just weeks after the first incident, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The first shooting happened in southwest Atlanta late July 13. Police responded to a call that someone had been shot and found two victims of multiple gunshot wounds at the scene.

One 29-year-old man, Donte Oneal Billingsley, died from the gunshots and another, Cedarius Johnson, 28, was expected to survive from his injuries after both were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, according to Atlanta police spokesman, Sgt. John Chafee.

The second shooting occurred on August 2 in the city’s downtown. Police once again responded to a call that a person had been shot in Woodruff Park that evening. The victim was identified as Sergio Rowell, 35, and was also taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and died there.

According to the incident report, Rowell fought with his assailant before being shot in the upper torso by a handgun.

The teen suspect was apprehended 10 days after the Rowell shooting, but was initially only charged in Billingsley’s death. Investigators eventually linked him to Rowell’s death more than two weeks after his first arrest.

Chafee stated that as of Aug. 31, the 15-year-old had been in custody at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center.

He has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of cocaine.

Rihanna bruised, ‘healing quickly’ after scooter accident: report

An observant photograph snapped a photo of Rihanna leaving a Los Angeles restaurant, posted to TMZ Saturday

Rihanna is said to be recovering from a mobile accident after she was captured leaving a Los Angeles restaurant with bruises on her face.

People Magazine reports that the Grammy Award-winning artist was injured in a scooter crash, as told by a representative for the singer.

“Rihanna is completely fine now, but flipped over on an electric scooter last week and bruised her forehead and face,” the spokesperson said in the statement. “Luckily, there were no major injuries and she is healing quickly.”

Photos of Rihanna’s bruised face and black eye had first surfaced on TMZ early Saturday morning.

While fans have been salivating for a new album, Rihanna, 32, has been less focused on music and more focused on social issues and her beauty and fashion empire.

She even went as far as to send a video message to fans that she had more important matters than new music to tend to, as previously reported by theGrio.

“If one of y’all motherf—–s ask me about the album one more time when I’m trying to save the world, unlike y’all President… [chuckles] on sight!” she said with tongue in cheek.

Rihanna’s world-saving efforts include her $4.2 million donation with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles for domestic abuse victims during COVID-19 and an undisclosed donation of PPE to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The superstar has also built an inclusive conglomerate with her Fenty Beauty cosmetics products and her Savage X Fenty lingerie company. She regularly uses women of all colors, complexions and body types to showcase her fashion line and make-up products.

She recently spoke with rapper A$AP Rocky in a video for GQ about the importance of representation.

“I wish the leaders of the beauty industry were a more diverse set of pioneers who have not just experienced the culture but have experienced a negligence in the industry whether it comes to their skin tone or skin type,” Rihanna said. “I feel like there’s so many voids to be filled and we will only know that by the pioneers that have experienced those voids, and the lack of their representation in the industry.”
